Bearded Collie Inventory Day

Today the Dutch Bearded Collie Club held an inventory day for dogs around the 2 year age, Toby was invited to come. We normally do not show she dogs but where somewhat curious to know so we went to Hoenderloo.

The judge was very enthousiastic and called Toby a really excellent dog. He said that Toby would be a good asset to the show arena and advised me to reconsider my not wanting to show. I gave the answer that the dog perhaps would fit well at a show but that I wouldn't. He denied that also. But anyhow we went home with a good feeling, because he is now officially a pretty boy, that's what I call him most of the time. But the most important thing of all is that Toby is just a very very nice and gentle dog and it's a great honour to be his boss.

Beardie walk

Yesterday we visited a bearded collie walk in Maastricht. It was a very nice day, in the beginning it was somewhat windy but after a short walk the sun showed itself to make it even better to walk.

Belgium Ardennes

As a bonus we drove to the Belgium Ardennes to enjoy a long weekend stay there. Belgium is a country to the south of the Netherlands. We stayed at a camping site situated between two small rivers the Ourthe and the Amblève.


The boys enjoyed the cold water of the rivers very much.




We have walked and bicycled and enjoyed the last day of this holiday somewhat relaxing, reading some book and the dogs enjoyed some bones to chew on and where is the best place that you can chew these on.... exactly on our bed.

Chaam

We went to Chaam back in our own province "Noord-Brabant". The campingsite we visited is near to a forest with some walkingtrails where the dogs can run free without their leash on.

We walked a couple of these trails while we where on this campingsite. Here some pictures of the boys running with their hair and ears all shaking.


After a walk it is always very nice to relax and the boys can do this very well as you can see on the next picture.

Row, row, row your boat

Our last day in Hoorn we rented a row boat and went on the water with the doggies. They have never been on a row boat so it was exited to see their response. I even had a nightmare that I was constantly fishing the dogs out of the water and that we capsized and stuff.
But it actually went very good and it was a very fine experience that needs to be repeated in the future.

Carnival in Hoorn

Today in the morning our neighbours where feeding the ducks in the water and Brego did like them very much.

It again was a very lovely day, the sun was shining and we got on our bikes to visit Hoorn the city. There was a carnival in the center so this was very delightful, we walked through the town centre, sat on a terras and drank something and the boys could enjoy a lot to be seen.

When we returned the boys enjoyed their meal together.

Hoorn

The next stop on our journey is Hoorn a beautiful historical city in the province Noord-Holland. We got there by driving over the "afsluitdijk" a piece of art of the Dutch water engineers.
We actually arrived at a beautiful campingsite, next to some water where boats, ducks and other water visitors are passing.
