Italy, Lago Maggiore

After our fantastic beardie weekend in Checy, France we continued our journey towards Italy. We decided to have a one-night stop-over in Switzerland, on the borders of lac de Genève. We had a tough drive through the mountains and relaxed a little bit.

So not much news on this, the only thing that our camping-site wasn't as quit as expected being next to a road with a lot of traffic. The next morning we drove onwards to Italy. We had some nice views that I tried to capture on film.

We arrived in Italy passing the Simplonpass (at 2006 m). We stopped here to stretch our legs before continuing with the journey.

You can see how high we actually are when you look at the snow that was on the mountain tops.
It was actually very sunny weather but it was nice and cool high up in the mountains.

The boys back in the van wondering where I'm staying.

The first Italian destination was Lago Maggiore, one of the greatest lakes of Italy. We drove around the lake for about 80 Kilometers to arrive at our camping site, that was directly located at the border of the lake.

The border was scattered with wood. Later we discovered that the day before we arrived there a big storm had taken place that caused all that wood to be there.

Toby of course couldn't resist the water and rushed inside the lake, Brego needed to be encouraged somewhat by throwing a stick or two in the water, of which there where enough laying around.

We had some beautiful days here, and where ready to continue the trip.
