Belgium Ardennes

As a bonus we drove to the Belgium Ardennes to enjoy a long weekend stay there. Belgium is a country to the south of the Netherlands. We stayed at a camping site situated between two small rivers the Ourthe and the Amblève.


The boys enjoyed the cold water of the rivers very much.




We have walked and bicycled and enjoyed the last day of this holiday somewhat relaxing, reading some book and the dogs enjoyed some bones to chew on and where is the best place that you can chew these on.... exactly on our bed.

Chaam

We went to Chaam back in our own province "Noord-Brabant". The campingsite we visited is near to a forest with some walkingtrails where the dogs can run free without their leash on.

We walked a couple of these trails while we where on this campingsite. Here some pictures of the boys running with their hair and ears all shaking.


After a walk it is always very nice to relax and the boys can do this very well as you can see on the next picture.

Row, row, row your boat

Our last day in Hoorn we rented a row boat and went on the water with the doggies. They have never been on a row boat so it was exited to see their response. I even had a nightmare that I was constantly fishing the dogs out of the water and that we capsized and stuff.
But it actually went very good and it was a very fine experience that needs to be repeated in the future.

Carnival in Hoorn

Today in the morning our neighbours where feeding the ducks in the water and Brego did like them very much.

It again was a very lovely day, the sun was shining and we got on our bikes to visit Hoorn the city. There was a carnival in the center so this was very delightful, we walked through the town centre, sat on a terras and drank something and the boys could enjoy a lot to be seen.

When we returned the boys enjoyed their meal together.

Hoorn

The next stop on our journey is Hoorn a beautiful historical city in the province Noord-Holland. We got there by driving over the "afsluitdijk" a piece of art of the Dutch water engineers.
We actually arrived at a beautiful campingsite, next to some water where boats, ducks and other water visitors are passing.

And here is when we went for a walk in the neighbourhood of the campingsite and it rained, so as you can see the boys are very wet.

Schiermonnikoog

Today we visited an island called Schiermonnikoog. It can be reached by boat from Lauwersoog, that's the place we are staying at. We biked to the harbour (2KM) and waited for the boat to arrive.

For both Toby and Brego it was the first time to be on a boat so it was interesting to see their response. They both responded very good although Toby was not enjoying the ships horn when we left the harbour but Brego did enjoy the seagulls very much and was super relaxed on deck. He stuck his head out of the railing of the boat the follow the seagulls while flying beside the boat.

I made some lovely pictures of the dogs lying on the dike with the wind in their hair.


We sat on a terras to enjoy some coffee.

We visited the beach and the boys went into the ocean.

There were some horses that visited the beach as well.

And we stopped to rest and enjoy the sunlight because it was a very nice day indeed.


At the end of the day we went back by boat and got back to our camping site.

Lauwersoog

Today we arrived in Lauwersoog, a little town near a nature resort in the north of the Netherlands in the province Groningen. We will stay here for three days because the dogs need to be groomed and therefore we are staying one day longer.
We went on biking around the Lauwersmeer, the nature resort and we even had a small accident with one of the doggyrides. It got loose from the bicycle and turned on its side with Brego still sitting in it. We were very happy that Brego wasn't harmed at all and wanted to sit back in the car right away, pfffjjjjjeewwww.

Biking in the Flevopolder

Today we went biking in the Flevopolder. Toby walked beside the bicycle for a while but also could rest inside the doggyride. Brego is to young to walk beside the bicycle so he was enjoying the doggyride for the whole trip. We stopped at a beach where the boys could swim. Here are some pictures of the boys in the doggyrides. Toby had just been walking so he is somewhat exhausted.

Zeewolde

We wanted to drive to the north of the Netherlands but due to the expected rainfall there we went to Flevoland instead more specific to Zeewolde. A camping site we visited earlier this year with a special dog beach.
This beach is something the boys realy enjoy, walking on the beach, swimming in the water, playing with other dogs, fun fun fun.

Walking in the Groesbeek forest

Today we went for a walk in the woods of Groesbeek. Because it was a very hot and sunny day we did a shortened walk. We didn't take the camera with us but thank the lord for technology we did have one of our mobiles with us. So here some pictures made with the phone in the Groesbeek forest.

Holiday

We are on summer holiday. Because Brego is not yet allowed to enter the UK or Scandinavia this year we decided to stay in the Netherlands for our summer holiday. We left on sunday the 5th and the weather was very hot and sunny.
Here are the boys all set to go in our campervan.
